Thursday

Defying gravity - sliding up the channel marketing learning curve.

On the train today and on time! It's Business Manager Steve's birthday and I fancy a tipple after hours. Before all that, though, I call a meeting to talk about our new sales model. We used to sell direct, but now we’re selling indirect through the channel. That would be great if we understood our partners a bit more and let them get to know us and learn more about our products. Maybe they need to come to Steve's birthday do.

Better than that, Se7en have just delivered the results of a recent e-poll on our Customer Performance Program, which will help us profile our partners better. It means we can run relevant and targeted marketing campaigns. And deliver the right sales support, too - whatever type of partner we're talking about. I spoke to the rest of the sales team and they said our channel partners believe our investment in the Program is proof that we’re serious about working with them. Through the Sales module I can also educate my sales team about our new channel strategy too.

All of which puts me in a good mood at Steve's bash. I end up doing my world-famous impersonation of him while he's at the bar. Luckily, he doesn't spot me.
