There's a big drinks thing on tonight for Steve's birthday, but I won't be joining them. I’ve too much on, and I've a big puzzle to figure out. I've just found out my marketing budget has been cut for the second quarter. Trouble is, I've still got tough sales and marketing targets to achieve. The challenge is to increase communications, increase sales uplift and support new product launches - all with fewer pennies. Talk about squaring the circle.
Back on to Se7en this afternoon and Eileen explains that, with the Customer Performance Program, my marketing budget goes much further. That's because I don't have to create every campaign from scratch. It's flexible, too. I can change the reward mechanisms on our current promotions this quarter, so my reward budget is now fixed and controlled. Drinks with the boys suddenly seem more appealing.
